Tandem paragliding and hang gliding in Rio de Janeiro with Gávea Voo Livre: take off from the Pedra Bonita launch ramp inside Tijuca National Park and land on São Conrado beach. Paragliding or hang gliding?
Paragliding is a smooth, seated flight — great for first-timers. Hang gliding is faster: you fly lying down under a rigid wing. Both take off from the same ramp and land on the same beach.
How long is the flight?
The flight lasts 10 to 20 minutes, depending on the wind. The whole experience, from meeting point to landing, takes about 1.5 hours.
Weight and age limits
- Paragliding: passenger up to about 105–110 kg
- Hang gliding: passenger up to about 75–80 kg
- No minimum weight. Minimum age: 14, with a parent or guardian’s authorization
What if the weather is bad?
Safety comes first. If conditions don’t allow flying, you can reschedule or get a refund.

At the São Conrado Free Flight Club (Clube São Conrado de Voo Livre), Av. Prefeito Mendes de Moraes, 1502, São Conrado beach, Rio de Janeiro. We fly every day from 8 am to 5:30 pm, by appointment.
